THANK YOU Prince Albert!

Congratulations to the 20 young performers who starred in a variety program at the EA Rawlinson Centre on May 16/12. I was one of three coaches who selected these talented singers, dancers and musicians from an audition of over 70 people. Then, on another day, we had a full day of workshops on performing and songwriting to help them prepare for the big show. Three people were selected to receive prizes of $500, $1000 and for one, a recording studio contract for an original song.

THANK YOU Swift Current!

Congratulations to Glenna Switzer and her team who put on the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards and music conference in Swift Current. They did a terrific job, especially considering it was a first run at it with a new SCMA chapter in the southwest.

I enjoyed presenting “The Elements of Performance” to about 35 folks who attended my session. To those who came, thanks for being there, and especially to local musician Dave Cyca for performing  very well as my “demo” guy. He already had lots of talent and ability, so it was interesting to see the subtle changes he made as we worked together in front of the audience.

Besides the session, this was the first time I’ve ever made myself available to showcasing artists for short one-on-one coaching sessions following their performances. Quite a few took me up on it and the process worked really well. Hope to do more of this at future music conferences.
